Kicked out of Supermom program

Ok, so I am no supermom. The last and only blog was 2 weeks ago. My only defense is sleep deprivation. Sleep has become such a valued commodity to me. Alright, I will not take you to the dark side by bitching about sleep. Who the f**k wants to read about that?!

The last couple of weeks have been the same shit. Drag both my kids (one usually screaming) down to the gym. I seriously try to time it around no one being in there, but always a few stray runners make their way to the treadmills. I get one of 2 smiles. 1. THE FORCED SMILE- This one I recognize from boarding airplanes with my son Greyson. They are trying to be civil but are dreading what I already know will come to pass. 2. THE SYMPATHY SMILE-aka The GROCERY STORE SMILE. I love this one because it is a smile that smacks of experience. These smiles are usually from moms with older children. Or just people who have a pulse.

Halloween was delightful. The hubby missed the trick or treating. I was going to pour on the guilt like a cheesy Def Leopard song but I reserved that card for later.
The cutest bunch of costumed toddlers and kindergartners made their way up our softly lit streets with baskets and bags. They asked kindly for treats and proudly displayed their superhero and princess costumes on request. My son was one of those cute kids. Grey was a pirate this year, complete with sword and an eye patch ARGH Matey! I loved that he totally got trick or treating this year. Like me, he has a BIG sweet tooth. Of course my 4 month old was only in costume for me. If she could speak, I'm sure her first words would be, "get me the fuck out of this". Let us not forget that she is my child. My friend Paula loaned me a tootsie roll costume that her daughter had used last year, and Sage was the hit of the party everywhere she went. If youre reading this Paula, thanks again!

Growing up I lived in a neighborhood with NO trick or treaters. We would have to drive to other neighborhoods for participants. And even then it was that orange no brand shit candy that was not even worth a trade for the box of raisins or toothbrush. I have always dreamed of living in a community like this, and I feel so blessed and fortunate to be a part of Tributary. Ok, I hear crying. Gotta run.

Good Things-Angie
